Female striped bass over 27 inches will NOT be harvested on my boat.

Big bucks beware, sperm is cheap

Caught about a dozen of these this week

From Capt. Jennings

Big girls get to live

Ou anglers today had the opporutnity to take 3 stripers over 27 inches today, we lost a couple of others, one of them was a buck, he didn't make it.   Sperm is cheap.

Getting Old

Some of the guides working the river these days were  not far from  diapers when Ben started fishing with me on the Roanoke nearly a quarter centry ago.

Thank you for another great day on the river.

Dropping water makes for tough striper fishing, but we still beat down about a dozen stripers per angler and a fine representation of three different catfish species.

shad, trouts, puppy drum, stripers

Man this is shaping up to be a great season.

Spring has sprung and the shad have arrived.

The trout have survived the winter.

The pups are plentiful

Stripers are pushing their way upstream.

I know I have not been posting in a while and have had some wellness checks as a result.  Anna and I are good.   We made a quick trip back to Costa Rica and got on the stage in the Los Suenos Triple Crown's 3rd leg.   Now settled in up in the hills.   Garden is tilled.  Potatoes and onions are in the ground but considering the snow storm last week Anna and I were wondering if we had migrated north too early.

Last year the humingbirds arrived on April 1.  We are still waiting.

I have been posting James' reports from the Dragin Fly at www.blog.draginflycostarica.com
