No tarpon bites, but did get some red

Couple of big drum yesterday afternoon while in search of tarpon.

I'm going to look for silver today. 

James and Dragin Fly just got back from chasing blues.   They raised 28 blue marlin in 3 days, teased 15 of them up for a bite on the fly and landed 5 blue marlin and 1 sailfish on 20# fly tackle.

Did i tell you that already?  Probably not, been nice having the river to ourselves for a couple of weeks.   Starting to get busy out there now.

Hey, check this out from this morning's hunt in Argentina.

I'll be helping get the river crowded next week, but for now, I am very much enjoying the cooler temps, great steaks, wine and unbelievable wing shooting.

Not a bad morning duck hunt, this afternoon one shooter had 504 doves in 3 hours.

13 blue marlin, 1 striped marlin and 4 sailfish in a day and a half. 
Heading back out today for some heavy tackle fly fishing.

This was on the Top Shelf yesterday.  Got folks fishing with them again today. 

And in Costa Rica on the Dragin Fly, a double digit plus day with the sailfish.

 The total score for my first of 2018 “Costa Rica, Blue Marlin Fly-Fishing School” was 33 Blue Marlin and 1 Striped Marlin raised, 15 Blue Marlin and 1 Striped Marlin bit the fly.

Leadered and released 3 Blue Marlin, of  160+, 250+, and 300+ pounds, all caught on IGFA 20 pound class tippet.
