tarpon report

Last week the Pamlico/Pungo River locals had their shootout, the Neuse River boys had ours this weekend.   Last week they did catch a fish and hooked a half dozen or so, we did not fair as well in our tourney, but everyone saw fish and a good time was had by all.   Congrats to Capt. Greg Voliva who did get a bite, but coming up on 4:30 without the release and all lines having to be out of the water by the deadline, the line parted so his fish did not count.   With no winning fish, our group's tournament entries and are contributing to a local charity.

It was encouraging to see a few fish,  we had boats scattereed from the Belhaven to Oriental and everyone saw a few tarpon.

Check out what Tom Cat saw on his new fancy depth finder.  Can't get the video to work here, but pretty cool,   yes that is a tarpon on his side scan going for a bait.  Send me an e mail and I'll send you the video.
