shark bites

If you are a fish that lives to be 60 years old, you're going to run into sharks.  Looks like this drum on the left caught by Capt. Brian's charter had a recent encounter.   We catch a lot of drum with old wounds.   Many times when a drum or tarpon gets bit by a shark, the shark's teeth stick in the scales and the drum or tarpon swims right through their mouth, leaving jaws with a mouth full of scales, but no meat.
