No cobias.....or at least none that I have seen in hundreds of miles of looking around the Crystal Coast.   Yes, there have been a few caught by the bottom fishermen and I shagged enough sharks and rays to get my fill of that.   There has been some excellent fishing of all sorts of light tackle toothed critters.   All kinds of sharks in all kinds of shapes and sizes.   Mackerals of Spanish and King variety, some trophy Spanish mackeral but the Kings are small, but make up for their size in voracity and numbers.   Catching 10 pound king on trout rods and flies is pretty good stuff.

Maybe a cobia will show but I think that running into a dorado along the warm waters and tide lines just off the beach is equally likely.   Amberjacks on the wrecks and a few bottom fish around but the weather has sucked and there has been a lot of current.

Big Rock starts this week so some of the guides have started to migrate away from the crowds and to the Neuse where the mixed bag trout/striped bass/puppydrum (red drum) mixed bag is yielding triple digit days.
