Long rides, big catches
There are scattered fish all over the place and most of the guides are making their days with a few big drum almost every day. For those of us who have been in search of the big bite and consistent double digit days, we have found them, but we have taken our beatings on getting them.
Salinity and dissolved oxygen levels are much lower in the Neuse this year than in the past 10 years due to all the rain that we had in July and early August. The drum come here to spawn and they're going to do their thing where those conditions are ideal. Usually those ideal conditions are right here in our back yard. But until we get that next nor'easter, the people fishing in the same ole places that they've caught them in years past, well they are going to pretty much get the same results that they've been getting all season.
What do you call it when you do the same thing over and over but expect different results?
